About Us

Welcome to the Crossed Blades Website

For visitors to the site who are not familiar with the Crossed Blades, it started out as a forum thread running on the BBC 606 website. A group of fans came together to talk about football, and more specifically Sheffield United, during a time when fans from every other club were trying to wind Blades up about a certain Mr Carlos Tevez. The Crossed Blades became a haven from a sea of WUM's (wind up merchants). The community feeling grew and a couple of predictions  competitions also started, which prompted the start of this website. This is your 'Virtual Boozer'!

This website was only 'born' on the 17th September 2007 and is steadily developing. Feel free to e-mail your thoughts about possible improvements, to the Landlord  - see below. Additionally if you have any photo's that can be added to the photo album they can be sent to the same address or uploaded yourself.

This website does not make any charges for joining and does not generate any money. It is purely run by the fans, for the fans. We will never ask you for any money, so if you get a request from someone claiming to be us, then please ignore it, or better still send it to us to investigate. The forum is great place for daily banter at all times of the day and easy to sign up to. You will also notice there is a guestbook, however this has been temporarily been disabled.

The Landlord can be contacted at

Competition Time

We have a couple of fun competitions running in the Crossed Blades

The first is a Weekly Predictions competition. The aim is to predict the correct score for each match being played in the Coca Cola Championship each week. Points are then awarded based on whether each competitor got the correct score or result.

The second competion is the Cup. Before the season started each competitor predicterd the top and bottom teams in each of the English football leagues.
