Venue: Glanford Park
Attendance:7599
Referee: A.Bates (7)
Man of the First Half: Kyle Walker
Man of the Second Half: The Scunthorpe Midfield
Man Of The Match: Hooper
Blades Line-Up:
Bunn, Davies, Morgan, Kilgallon, Stewart, Walker, Harper, Quinn, Little, Evans, Henderson
Subs:
Bennett, France, Reid, Treacy, Taylor, ??
First Half:
Changes of formation and personel since the draw with Doncaster. Walker moves up into Right Midfield, Davies covers at Right back as Little moves over to the left hand side. Evans partners Henderson up front.
I didn't go, but from the Poor RS commentary. Walker was giving the Scunthorpe Left Back a torrid time, as United lumped the ball up to Henderson who didn't win a header all Match, but then again, he was closely marked by a Giant 6'7" Rob Jones
The deadlock was broken from a great 25 yards shot which thundered past Bunn who was on his line
(22)HT 1-0 McCann
Second Half:
United equalised just after the break, Evans winning a free kick from Walker's great cross. Quinn takes and Evans drills a great shot past the sprawling keeper
1-1 (51)
Just 2 minutes later and virtually straight from the kick off, Scunthorpe regained the lead
Hooper breezed past Kilgallon and looped a great cross that came off the bar and Hayes followed up 2-1(53)
Scunthorpe bossed the game from here on in, and sealed the game just 6 minutes later. McCann again hitting the net from Hoopers intervension
3-1 (59)
FT 3-1

Look what happens when a proper coach with limited resources comes up against an expensive team managed by a clueless numpty. Yes I WANT KB to be successful, but then I WANT to win the EUROMILLIONS as well........neither's very likely.

Square pegs in round holes when there are perfectly good options (fit) in the squad (reid!!!)
Not looking forward to Blackpool away on a cold october night if we play like that.....

No Plan B, and Plan A is shite.
4 out of last 6 games we've conceded 3 goals.
We've now won only 2 games from our last 8
Pigs now 1 point behind us.
KB will make great play of the injuries. BOLLOXES ... that team should have been good enough, it's the hopeless style of play with seemingly NO midfield that screws us up. Since we stopped playing with a CMF in front of the back 4 we're shipping goals like we're not even there. As for Bunn, Oh FFS man.
Last 6 games, 5 points, average less than 1 per game, relegation form, and after what I've seen and heard the last few games we can forget about promotion and concentrate on making sure we stay in the division first. Some of you will have a pop at me for saying that, but check the record of who we've failed to beat in recent weeks. It ain't pretty, with Newcastle, Cardiff, Dingles coming up and a very tough trip to Blackpool on Tuesday night.
Killa going, borrowed players all over the place, playing like a bad pub team. It's going to be a tough season. I know, with glass half full you can talk about where we were this time last year, and about how if we go on a run we can get back in the play-off places, but teams like Scunthorpe aren't just nicking a lucky win, they are embarrassing us with the standard and quality of their football and it's that comparison of tactics and quality displayed by bottom-half teams (and look how lucky we were against Ipswich!) that makes me fear for us this season. Of course we won't go down(!) but clearly something major has to happen to our style, our intelligence, our desire and our tactics for us to get anywhere near the top 6.
Up The Blades !!!

Will have my say when doing the match ratings and when
i`ve calmed down a bit.
I know the players copped some stick off the fans today, but does that excuse the fact that only Morgs, Harper and Kyle Walker came over to applaud the supporters at the end of the game?? I think not.
Am fearing the worst on tuesday night, the good hiding I predicted a little while ago could have happened today. If we do get a spanking at Blackpool or put out a similar performance, Blackwell could be in serious trouble because that today was unacceptable.
