Sheffield United Football Club - Who's Who

Read a good book about the Blades, or maybe football in general. Do you think fellow Crossed Blades Members would also enjoy it?

Why not share it with everyone. Simply create a Topic in here - add a small picture of the front cover and a few words about the book and maybe the price and where you can buy it.

Sheffield United Football Club - Who's Who

Amongst my Christmas treats this year was one book I'd hoped to get - I'd been banging on about it long enough to Mrs Vamps and even pointed it out to her in the club shop - true to form she didn't let me down!

The book is basically a history of all the players, Managers and even Directors of Sheffield United Football club since the inception in 1889 - There's even a section at the back for Secretaries, Trainers Other Staff and United People!!

It's probably the most comprehensive history of Sheffield United I have ever come across, and whilst the author admits there may be the odd one or two that has been missed, or the odd error (which he also asks fans to point out if they spot any) I haven't managed to find a single player I've looked for - unlike the commemorative shirt that has the Blades players names in it!!

Every player profile includes a brief run down of the players career, transfers fees, appearance stats whilst at United and small profile write up.

I haven't managed to get all the way through it yet, but have certainly enjoyed reading up and stirring old memories from when I first started watching The Blades.

It's a large book in Hardback and whilst I don't know what her indoors paid for it, the price in the club shop at the moment is an unbelievable £10.........the best tenner you'll ever spend!!
