Title: Away Games 2017
Post by: Vamps on January 19, 2017, 10:50:24 pm
OK - First of my planned away trips for the remainder of this season.........

http://www.sufc.co.uk/news/article/sheffield-united-peterborough-2565739.aspx

Anyone else in (more than likely on the train - ground is about a mile away from the station)?

Rumour has it there may be a further 1400 tickets available.

Can't make that one - apart from the fact that I'm a church mouse who's been the victim of cheese theft, bro visiting with kids that weekend.

I would have thought that the prospect of kids visiting would be a great incentive to go to Peterborough

I'm planning on being at this one providing I can get tickets for Harry and I.  They go on sale for Blades Revival members on Saturday 4th Feb, the day of the Wimbledon game which we're up in Sheffield for.  I'm driving up that morning, so won't have much time to queue before the match so fingers crossed.

I'm then planning to be at Northampton and MK Dons (as per previous thread, hotel already booked for this one).

Work permitting, I'm also thinking about getting up to Sheffield for one or more of the Coventry, Bradford or Chessie home games.

Finally got my Peterborough tickets this morning online.

Went to get them Saturday from the ticket office but they wouldn't let us have them as it was only one ticket per person and I wanted an adult and a child.  I asked if there'd be enough left when they went on general sale today (Monday) and she said there'll be a few hundred left.

Bloody jobsworth could have slipped one more ticket in for a kid...

Brain-dead down there mate. There was no way the remaining loyalty-points-based allocations would have been sold out that day if there were a few hundred left so of course they could have sorted you out. Pain in the bloody arse sometimes the way they run things down there, like having 10 desks in the ticket office and only 3 people actually sitting at them with a mile-long queue outside.

Managed to get Radio Sheffield loud and clear over here this evening
Sounded like Billy Sharp was starved of the ball first half-Pity.
2 nil up,and I know Wilder likes to keep attacking--but sometimes I think it makes sense to "shut uo shop" from time to time..Then surely we would have come away with 3 points
Fleetwood coming like an express train..and on paper an easy run in.. Looks like us and Fleetwood
now for the number 1 spot--

What's everyone's view on this trend for creating "scenes" in away games when we score?  Looking at the less capable chat boards it seems many aren't amused by the recent antics of the younger away Blades - fire crackers, flares, smoke bombs, pitch encroachments etc.

Personally, I can't see the point of smoke bombs and flares, shite European bollocks.  Next we'll be having massive flags and banners obscuring everyone's view throughput the game...

Don't mind the odd pitch encroachment when it's genuine (i.e. the shock and resulting ecstasy when Chris Porter finally scored) but it's becoming a bit of a recurring (and frankly boring) theme and could end up losing us points if it got out of hand. Knowing our luck, we'll win the league at MK Dons and then get points deducted for a mass pitch invasion that sees Bolton and Fleetwood finish above us  )O(

Oldham are giving up their home end so we can take up to 4,300 fans.  I hope we will respect their hospitality and see none of the vandalism and disrespect we saw at Rochdale.

Anyway, am I just being a grumpy old man, or does anyone else think the young 'uns need to simmer down a bit?

There are some proper young arseholes that follow United mate, 2 bottles of Carling and just as many brain cells isn't a good base to start from. I do think all clubs have their total muppets, and the fact that we take so many fans mean the actions of a small percentage are magnified to a degree.

So yes, you're right, but you're still a grumpy old man  :whi

If you're going to use any (non-enterprise) social messaging service Lings then What's App is the one.  It's the only one properly encrypted. Middle East businesses use it all the time - they don't touch Skype, Facebook or any of the others.
